Paewhenua Island is one of Northland's best-kept secrets: in fact a north facing peninsula situated on Mangonui Harbour, with it's southern boundary adjoining State Highway 10. Here, an idyllic community of just 26 houses across 110 hectares is being developed. In time, it will be one of the more special places on the East Coast. And you could have a piece of it.

Formerly a cattle farm, the land has been rehabilitated, native wetlands have been restored and hundreds of thousands of native plants established. Communal facilities include security gates, private internal roading, a jetty with an all-tide boat ramp and a boat storage area.

A separately owned 13 hectare vineyard has been developed in the centre of the property with wine being produced under the "Butterfish Bay" brand for the first time from the 2008 vintage.

The sites are large, all with panoramic water views and shares in the remaining 80 hectares of open space, covenanted bush and grazing land suitable for horses. With their own private access residents can enjoy the renowned fishing waters of Doubtless Bay or choose to enjoy the amenities of the island with a stroll on the walking trails or amongst the grapes. So what are you waiting for?

You can either buy a site and build or the vendor can also provide a completed house.
